Kim Burns – Baby Foodie Momma
I am a mother and a food lover! When my daughter Anna Mae was 6 months old, I planned on preparing her meals myself, with only the freshest, organic, foods California has to offer. This was a great idea in theory, but as a working Mom I sometimes found myself with an empty fridge and not enough time. So I resorted to feeding Anna Mae jarred baby food from the grocery store.
To my surprise, there was not a fresh option available in San Francisco. You could find frozen and jarred baby food, but the taste left little to be desired. Why wasn’t someone making fresh baby food in San Francisco? It dawned on me – Why not do this myself? I enjoy making my own baby food and am passionate about eating locally. Anna Mae had developed a great palate which I attributed to the many fresh flavors and textures she’d been exposed to at an early age.
I know many busy Moms out there like me, searching for better baby food options than are presently available in San Francisco. Whether you are not a fan of cooking or just don’t have the time, we can help make your life easier while expanding your child’s palate.
Cristina Serafyn – Expert Blender
I have a true passion for all things food. It all started at birth, when I was immediately introduced to flavors from around the world. With a Cuban Mom and a Polish Dad, we had a variety of foods growing up, from homemade pierogies to arroz con pollo. We always had a garden in our urban driveway, a new meaning to “Jersey Fresh” and my mom pureed our food in our 1950s style lime green blender, the same one my sister uses today for my nephew, Noah! My love for food continued through high school, when I worked at the Strawberry Patch, my neighborhood produce stand. Today I can spend weeks wandering Farmers Markets around the world, hours hunting through the shelves of a specialty grocery store, or days cooking in my own kitchen or one thousands of miles from home.
I’ve spent my professional career doing Marketing in financial services, retail, and technology. But food is where my heart is and now my hobby is my career! I went from feeding friends & family to the mouths of babes. Fresh Baby Bites is a new adventure in food…
Katie McPeak – M.D.
I am a pediatrician for underserved children at San Francisco General Hospital. You may be wondering…”how did she get involved in Fresh Baby Bites?” Well, like Cristina and Kim, I also have a passion for fresh, local, organic food. I advocate for my patients to make their own baby food: it is cheaper, it is fresher, and it is certainly healthier than commercially prepared “jarred” food. I am also a mother of a two. Having made all of my own baby food, I know how laborious it can be. Sure, it’s enjoyable, but if you’re a full-time working mom, you just don’t have the time. My philosophy about baby and toddler food is simple: offer a variety, offer the rainbow of colors, offer many complementary tastes and textures, and eat it fresh!
Devon Yanofsky – Right Hand Woman

Hello everyone! My name is Devon Yanofsky and I first started working with Fresh Baby Bites in January 2012 as the marketing intern (or as I called myself, the right hand woman.) Since graduating from University of San Francisco in December 2012 with a degree in marketing, I have transitioned to lead some event planning while still continuing to help with marketing and deliveries. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Fresh Baby Bites team as we continue to expand and grow! I ‘m ecstatic to be part of such a great team of amazing women entrepreneurs!
Since working at Fresh Baby Bites, I have developed a love for eating local and organic food and cooking. Living a healthy lifestyle is extremely important and starts with what you eat to nourish your body and mind.
I was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, a small beach town in the southern part of Los Angeles. A few years ago, my mom decided to change her lifestyle including working out and eating healthy. She was the one who turned me on to pursuing a health conscious lifestyle. I love being active, so in my free time I take yoga and Pilates classes (my recent obsession), go running, or just take a walk with some friends. One of my favorite things to do is sit down relax and drink a cup of yummy tea! Food nourishes the body and mind so eating healthy fresh, organic, and local is extremely important to make you feel your best.
Emily Chiu – Lean Green Marketing Machine

My love for food emerged when I moved to this city four years ago to attend the University of San Francisco in pursuit of a degree in Marketing. Having grown up in Pleasanton, California in a household where healthy eating was extremely important, I acquired an appetite for vegetables at a young age. I then decided to make a lifestyle change at the beginning of my college career by becoming a vegetarian. Since then, I’ve constantly been on the lookout for hidden gems when strolling the streets of San Francisco or browsing Yelp.com, one of my not so secret obsessions, for restaurants to add to my must try list. When I’m not eating my way around the city you can find me outdoors. I love going on hikes, playing golf, and attending festivals…basically anything that will get me out in the sun and experiencing the sights, sounds, and amazing food that San Francisco has to offer.
Local and organic are two of my favorite words when it comes to food, so when an opportunity arose to be a marketing intern for Fresh Baby Bites I jumped at the chance. I am thrilled to be able to work with Cristina and Kim and am looking forward to having fun while learning and working inside and outside the kitchen!
Kelcy Evans – Taste Tester Extraordinaire
My name is Kelcy Evans and I am the Fresh Baby Bites Community Outreach Intern. I am so excited to work with Cristina and Kim and go around the community and share their delicious products with moms and their little ones. This opportunity has given me the chance to get out in the community and get experience that cannot be taught in school.
I’m from Roseville, California (outside of Sacramento) and lived there until graduating high school in 2010 and deciding to attend University of San Francisco to study Business Marketing. Since then it has been an adventure adjusting to being somewhat on my own. I have learned to appreciate home cooked meals more and realize it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. While cooking has become a new interest of mine since leaving home, I have always enjoyed painting acrylic on canvas in my spare time.
Marjan Esser – Muffin and Meatball Maker
Making Mini Muffins & Mini Meatballs is one of my favorite activities in the kitchen! Besides cooking, I’m proud to be part of the outreach team. And this is my story…
My family and I moved from the Netherlands to San Francisco in July 2012. While leaving our home and our comfort zone was difficult, we embraced the challenge of starting up our lives here in San Francisco. To pursue our happiness, I also said goodbye to my job as a strategic behavioral change consultant. Looking towards the future, I realized I wanted to do something with my experiences as a young mother.
My son was loving his homemade food so much that I promised myself to never indulge in jarred baby food. I ended up cooking for him since I couldn’t find a fresh, tasty, and healthy alternative. While I was dreaming and making plans about starting my own company that makes that fresh and healthy baby food, I found Fresh Baby Bites. I am really honored to work for this company. The passion these two women have for their growing business truly inspires me and gives me a lot of energy!
